First of all, I would like to thank you for your supports to Chinese community and I’m very proud of your success.
As you may know, Greenville Chinese Culture Association (GCCA) has been around for more than 30 years. Our organization has grown from a several-family-member club to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with more than 200 family members. From our founders to past presidents, from all of you to me, we all share a same dream, a dream that one day we will have our own culture center. Today, I’m proud to say that we have made ourselves ready to take the next step to realize this dream.
Our community is one of the strongest minority communities in this area. We have many successful entrepreneurs, business leaders, bankers, developers, professors, scientists and engineers. We need a place to represent our own success; a place where we can enjoy, appreciate and understand the Chinese culture and its origins; a place where we can promote, foster, encourage and sponsor discussion groups, forums, panels, lectures, meetings, programs or activities for its members of interest and benefit to the Chinese or friends of Chinese Community; a place where we can celebrate and promote our culture and culture activities; a place where I can come to play Majhon when I retire 10 years from now and a place where you can go to play Poker when you retire 100 years from now; and above of all, a place that we can all proudly call “home”.
Chinese culture is the result of over several thousand years of philosophical, artistic, political, and scientific advancement. With a Chinese culture center, we will bring our culture diversities and elements that will otherwise be enjoyed only at the major metropolitans to upstate area.
Objective
To build a 15,000 square feet multi-functional culture center consisting of a Chinese school and an activity center
Fund Raising Goal
To raise a minimum of $500,000.
Plan
(1) Execute a five-year fund raising plan
(2) Acquire 2-acre land by 6/30/2007
(2) Complete a culture center by 6/30/2008
